She closed her eyes and breathed him in "I think the rocks fell." She looked around at the rock debris and said "I'm fine are you okay?" She could feel the cold he was giving off and sent waves of warm air over him hoping to warm him up a little but.
The male lifted his head to look up, wondering why the rocks had decided to fall.
"How long do you think we've been out?" He asked, still unable to take this all in. He shook his head, focusing his eye sight as he felt a bit better about being close to Kenna once again.
Then, he looked around in more of a panicked way, turning to look back at Kenna.
"Kenna.. Kenna... KENNA. KENNA!" He shouted, jumping up and running around maniacally.
"KENNA, I THINK WE'RE TRAPPED IN HERE!" He exclaimed, nervously. His tail tucked between his legs, and he looked around cautiously. Skittishly making his way back to her side, Kestral sat down with big, nervous eyes. "Kenna, Kevin's not in here." He said, biting his lip, practically tearing a hole in it. "KENNA WHAT IF KEVINS DEAD!" He said, spinning in a circle, not realising that if Kevin, was, indeed dead, Kestral wouldn't be glowing still.
She stood up and put a paw on Kestrals shoulder "Calm down!! It's okay we can figure it out." She could feel the cool air seeping in through one of the debris covered walls. She made her way over and began pawing at the rocks shifting the ones she could. She leaned her shoulder up against a large boulder and pushed doing nothing but giving herself a bruise. She sighed and sat down her eyes closing in thought, the creek! She looked over at where they were fishing and the water was unblocked "Kestral, that water has to lead to somewhere.."
The male silently sat down and obeyed Kenna, watching her carefully as she seemed intent on breaking out. He quickly stood to his feet in fear as she whammed herself against the wall, sprinting towards her to make sure she was alright. Kestral looked over her shoulder, noticing a bruise forming. He quickly reached down to lick at it lovingly, before listening to his mate speak of the waters.
"You are right!" He said, running off from her and towards the crystal blue's waters edge. He looked around, but it seemed as though the water lead all against the walls.
"We'd have to swim out.." Kestral said, turning to Kenna.
"And.. your a fire wolf." Kestral bit his lower lip. What were they supposed to do? He looked up to the top of the cave, then all towards the walls. It seemed there was no way out, besides the water. He looked to her again. Should he try to swim out, and then find a way back in for her, with the help of another element? Maybe a water wolf could escort them out and bend the water for Kenna. He didn't know,. What to do, what to do...
"KENNA!" He shouted, running in circles. "I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!" His tail lowered and his head drooped. Why did he think of this stupid exploring idea? Why didn't he do a better job at keeping Kenna safe? Why was he such a failure?
She pressed her side against his "Listen it'll be okay we can swim out just follow the current the current always flows down." She walked to the waters edge and dipped a paw in the ice cold water making a sizzling sound as she touched it. She recoiled her paw with a growl but then just went for it her paws couldn't touch the ground since she was a bit shorter than Kestral. The water began smoking and bubbling from the fire it was trying to put out.
His eyes opened wide as Kenna attempted to get into the water. His instincts were immediate as he wanted to yank her out and call her crazy. "Kenna, I don't know if I'm comfortable with you doing this.." He whined. "It's not exactly the warmest time of year, how will you warm up?" He asked. "It's probably snowing out there, even in the forest." His ears drooped, and he nuzzled up against her side. "I love you more than anything else in this world. I don't want to lose you because of something that was probably my fault..." He sighed, looking down into the water.
"Why don't you wait here and I'll try to escape and break in from the outside?" He asked, trying to convince her not to practically kill herself in the water. He really didn't want to lose her. He felt tears pressing on, but he attempted to stay strong for his mate. What about their future? Their family? What would he do without his sweet? He looked down at her neck at her shining yellow gem, biting his tongue nervously.
She pushed through the water her mouth clamped shut hiding the growls of pain she would normally be emitting. She looked at her mate a strained smile crossing her face"I'm fine, I'll be perfectly okay I promise." She followed the water through a small tunnel her nose pushed into the air as to not suffocate. As she saw a break in the tunnel wall she put her front paws on the cold marble and scrambled up brushing herself more in the process of trying to get her slippery body onto the smooth surface. She lay on the floor panting her body shaking and with a chatter in her voice she yelled through the black darkness she had just traverse hoping Kestral could hear her "Kestral come this way the path isn't blocked over here." She tried to gather herself together while she waited for him her internal fire flickering and dim.
The male was biting his lower lip so hard, he could have sworn he could have bitten a hole right through it at that moment. Watching Kenna swim through the water was the scariest, and yet, most beautiful thing he had ever witnessed. He was mesmerized by the way she swam in the water, his tail swaying in rhythm to her stroke. His ears perked up as she disappeared down a certain way, and before he knew it he was diving in, dog paddling his way towards her.
"Kenna, do you see anything?" Kestral asked, the water glowing around him and emitting a dim light, bright enough to see the red hued female in the near distance. He swam towards her, but didn't dare plan on touching her as he worried to drown her, it must be hard enough to be in her opposite element, let alone be stuck in a cave. Kestral looked around, still heading towards Kenna. It wasn't until he got right up close to her that he realized she wasn't in the water any more. 'Oh!" He shouted, reaching out as his claws attempted to dig into the marble-like surface, trying to pull himself out of the water. After a few fumbles, Kestral eventually pulled himself onto land, immediately shaking as much water as he could, clear from his coat, before wrapping himself around his mate, licking at her paws in attempt to dry them, as he knew that was one place her heat came from. "Are you okay?" He asked, between licks, focused on Kenna.
The male was walking around, completely unaware of who he was, where he was, and why he was there. His head hurt, and that was all he could remember. What the male didn't know, was that he had fallen and slammed his head on the corner of a hard rock, and although blood was dripping from the side of his head, the injury caused a concussion, and Kestral lost all memory.
He wandered slowly through the mountains, trying to figure out what he was doing in these lands. He didn't even know he had a helper, or where Kevin had flown off too-
But a strange aurora was guiding him, and he couldn't help but follow it. It was a beautiful color, mind blowing and so pretty, he just wanted to touch it. But it was guiding him, and he couldn't reach out quick enough. The faster he moved, the faster it disappeared. Kestral became extremely hung over this colorful glow, and it became his life goal, to find out where it was to lead him.
Slowly, Kestral found himself heading into Phoenix forest.
